NASHVILLE, IN — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Nashville that improves voice and data coverage in the east central portion of Brown County.
Coverage is also improved along the following major roads:
- State Road 46 between Salt Creek Road and Hoover Road;
- and State Road 135 between Gnaw Bone and Stone Head.
The new cell site, which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, enables more Verizon Wireless customers to rely on their wireless devices for social networking, Internet browsing, downloading apps and music, exchanging email and text, picture and video messages, watching high-quality videos and making calls.
The company’s ongoing network investment in Indiana now totals more than $1.1 billion. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $65 billion since it was formed – $6 billion on average every year – to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
