Verizon Wireless Customers Can Rule The Sea And Mountain Air With Recent 3G Network Enhancements

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless has activated more new 3G cell sites across the United States in the past two weeks, including coastal and mountain areas, so customers can stay in touch at any elevation.

In the popular Pacific Northwest ocean resort of Seaside, Oregon, wireless calling, text messaging and surfing the Web on the Verizon Wireless high-speed 3G network is now easier and faster for residents and visitors, thanks to a new cell site.

In the Adirondack region of upstate New York, Verizon Wireless activated the seventh of 14 planned sites that will eventually close a more-than-50-mile coverage gap along Interstate 87 – the Northway – between the state capital of Albany and Plattsburgh, at the Canadian border.

The Verizon Wireless 3G wireless network carries data sessions for customers using the latest wireless devices and smartphones. Customers can use their devices to check weather updates before a hike, share beach memories with friends and family using picture and video messaging, or discover new places with apps that provide helpful information and points of interest like the “Seaside, Oregon,” app, available in Android Market™.

Verizon Wireless also enhanced the nation’s most reliable 3G network with new cell sites in:

These network enhancements are part of the aggressive annual network capital investment program that keeps Verizon Wireless ahead of the growing demand for voice and data services.
