LOYALSOCK, PA — In the wake of heavy rains caused by Tropical Storms Lee, Katia, and Irene, which has led to extensive flooding and power outages across the Loyalsock area, Verizon Wireless has coordinated with the township to provide a Mobile Communications Trailer and resources to help residents contact family, friends and loved ones.
The 16-foot trailer offers free domestic and international long distance calling, 110V outlets for charging cell phones and other electronic devices, and Internet access. The Verizon Mobile Communications Trailer is at Plunketts Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, 327 Dunwoody Road in Williamsport, and will be open to the public beginning Monday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Verizon has also set up communications equipment at Wallis Run United Methodist Church, 9915 Wallis Run Road in Trout Run that the public can use to make free domestic and international calls and access the Internet. Verizon’s resources will remain at the two locations as needed.
Verizon Wireless’ Communications Store at 1931 E. Third Street in Williamsport is also providing free domestic calls and device recharging to assist area residents.
