Verizon Wireless Brings Its 4G LTE Network To Youngstown And Warren, Ohio On Dec. 15

YOUNGSTOWN, OH — On Dec. 15, Verizon Wireless customers in Youngstown and Warren can take advantage of Verizon Wireless’ 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, the fastest 4G network in the nation. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network allows customers to share music and photos, surf the Web, and download files up to 10 times faster than before. The 4G LTE network will be available to customers in the following cities and towns:

  • Youngstown;
  • Warren;
  • Campbell;
  • Struthers;
  • Poland;
  • Boardman;
  • Canfield;
  • Austintown;
  • McDonald, and;
  • Niles.

4G LTE Coverage and Speed

In addition to launching its network in Youngstown and Warren on Dec. 15, the company is adding 10 other new markets and expanding its network in San Diego and San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; Savannah, Ga.; Chicagoland, Ill.; and Baltimore and Hagerstown, Md., for a total of 190 markets and more than 200 million people covered in 2011.

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers in the area should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.

When customers travel outside of a 4G LTE coverage area, 4G LTE devices automatically connect to Verizon Wireless’ 3G network, enabling customers to stay connected from coast to coast.
