KANSAS CITY, MO — Verizon Wireless is bringing out its own pinch-hitter to ensure that baseball fans attending the big game on July 10, as well as those attending related events July 6-10, won’t miss a call or have trouble sending texts, pictures or video highlights.

The nation’s largest wireless provider has deployed a Cell on Light Truck (COLT) in the area, a temporary cell site that enables Verizon Wireless to increase its 4G LTE network capacity for voice and data transmissions during special events when increased network demand is expected. History has proved wireless connectivity is in high demand during high profile sporting events as fans use their mobile devices to take, send and post photos and clips from the stadium, and also access the web for scores and highlights from other games.

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
