Taking a Screenshot on an Android 4.0 Smartphone

The print screen button on a PC and the Command-Shift-4 combo on a Mac are quick and well-known options for taking a screenshot. But what if you want to take a screenshot from your smartphone? With the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, it’s simple. Here’s how: press and hold the power and the volume down buttons. In seconds, the screen will flash and the image will be stored in the photo gallery. From there, you can share your screenshot via picture message, email or a social media site such as Facebook. That process works for most 4G LTE smartphones with Ice Cream Sandwich, such as the DROID RAZR MAXX, DROID INCREDIBLE 4G LTE by HTC, or the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. With the Samsung Galaxy S III, it is even easier – just swipe your hand from the right side of your screen to the left, the screen will flash and store the screenshot in the photo gallery. Several 4G LTE smartphones already have Ice Cream Sandwich, with more on the way.
