Print Anytime, Wirelessly

Consumers increasingly expect to be able to perform almost any task on their mobile devices with convenience and ease – email, viewing and editing documents for work, shopping and Web browsing, among them. Until recently, printing directly from a mobile device was one of those things that people wanted to do while on the go, but solutions were scarce.

Fortunately, new technologies and business models have given users a way to print documents and photos from their mobile devices.

The ePRINTit Kiosk from St. Joseph Communications was developed with cloud printing and mobility solutions from Hewlett Packard including the HP Public Print Location program and the HP ePrint Service app. Its patented technology enables users to submit their print job wirelessly from a smartphone or internet-enabled device, as well as find a Kiosk using the GPS on that device.

The free HP ePrint Service app provides access to a worldwide directory of more than 30,000 public print locations, including the St. Joseph Communications ePRINTit Kiosks. The network connects businesses, educational institutions, post stations and the world’s largest retailers with the six million users of HP ePrint mobile apps.

The shift toward consumer mobility is characterized by the need for security, simple user design, and access to cloud services. The user experience is no different with the HP ePrint Service app. The app allows users to print from their mobile devices with just a few clicks. The printed photos and documents can come from the storage on the device or from the solution’s direct integration cloud-based services like Dropbox, Box and Facebook. Files are held securely in the cloud. Once at the ePRINTit device, users enter a secure code to retrieve their printed documents in seconds.

Currently installed at multiple locations within Toronto Pearson International Airport and at legal institutions and colleges in Canada, the ePRINTit Kiosk is expected to roll out across the United States. The Kiosk is one of the breakthrough products in the Verizon Innovation Program, which is designed to help companies take full advantage of Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
