Nuance, a provider of voice and language solutions, found that 95 percent of apps downloaded, many of which are free, are swiftly abandoned resulting in unnecessary battery drain. Even the most tech-savvy users fall victim to this trend. Jenna Wortham, technology reporter for The New York Times, has 259 apps on her smartphone but has said she only uses about 16 of them regularly.
