Wireless Phone Users Receive Improved Service in Fort Wayne, Indiana
FORT WAYNE, IN — Verizon Wireless has added capacity to 17 of its existing network cell sites in the Fort Wayne area. These enhancements enable more customers, who are making voice calls and using data services such as TXT and Picture Messaging, to be on the network concurrently.
The network upgrades will improve the experience of customers making calls near Fort Wayne's Grand Wayne Convention Center, Children's Zoo, Historical Museum, Museum of Art, Performing Arts Center, Lincoln Museum, and the Jack D. Diehm Museum of Natural History. Network improvements also will add capacity near the Franke, Johnny Appleseed Memorial and Buckner Farm parks, and around the Glenbrook and Jefferson Point shopping malls.
"These network upgrades enable us to continue meeting the growing needs of local businesses and consumers who rely on their wireless phones for just about everything from answering voicemails, reading email and checking on the kids," said Greg Haller, president, Indiana/Kentucky/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "Maintaining network superiority is our top priority; it's what our customers expect of us."
The improvements are part of Verizon Wireless' continuous upgrades to its network in Indiana and across the country. During the past three years, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $12 billion in its national network, offering customers access to the most extensive and reliable wireless voice and data network in the United States. More than $67 million of that investment was used last year to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in Indiana.
