What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be overseeing various revenue accounting responsibilities for multiple international countries using both US GAAP, and local GAAP/IFRS. Supports Manager, Revenue Accounting with accounting, analyzing, and reporting of Verizon business with complex contracts with customers

• Take responsibility for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on SAP, performing the posting of all month / quarter / year end revenue journals. Ensure all entries have appropriate backup and are compliant with both US GAAP and local country GAAP (where appropriate)

• Review and assess customer contracts and provide technical accounting advice to business and finance to ensure correct revenue recognition

• Driving the balance sheet reconciliation quality at month end for assigned entity and / or across entities. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed timely, research and resolve outstanding items timely with business owners

• Implementing and driving compliance of internal accounting policies, SOX controls and relevant GAAP to ensure complete compliance

• Using various digital systems and software to perform a wide variety of analysis

• Drive automation opportunities using digital software tools where possible

• Proactively identify and develop opportunities for process improvements to improve controls, efficiency and timeliness

• Leading group and local statutory accounting and audit process for assigned entities

• Taking the lead in ad hoc projects as deemed appropriate

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
  • Experience in managing revenue accounting across multiple countries and currencies.
  • Direct project management experience, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing of projects.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as SAP, CPM/Essbase, and Blackline.
  • Knowledge of FASB, SEC requirements, SOX compliance and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles both US GAAP, and local GAAP/IFRS.
  • Experience designing and implementing accounting systems, running continuous improvement projects, and conducting root cause analysis.

Even better if you have one of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Familiar with international business & accounting practices and processes including local statutory reporting in EMEA IFRS and US GAAP
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Good team, organizational planning skills, sound judgment, attention to detail and strong time management.
  • Large or medium size company accounting experience
  • Experience of handling complex data through Microsoft excel, access and other database
  • CPA certification (or local equivalent such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  • Big 4 Accounting/Advisory/Audit experience
  • Proficiency in a language other than English
  • Demonstrated Shared Service Center experience within a global, publicly traded company
  • Understanding of FASB, SEC requirements, SOX compliance
  • Experience running continuous improvement projects, and conducting root cause analysis
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry
