What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for working with the tax audit team and upper management to account for all FAS 5 (ASC450) activities related to transaction tax audits (gross receipts and sales/use tax). You will be responsible for forecasting transaction tax impacts related to audits, posting all journal entries to account for activities and managing the FAS 5 reserve balances by entity.

  • Present results and forecasts to upper management.
  • Partner and collaborate with the Tax Accounting and Transaction Tax Audit teams in order to meet tight deadlines for internal and external stakeholder’s review.
  • Gather evidence to demonstrate accounting process complies with SOX requirements and reviews to demonstrate appropriate, effective controls are in place throughout the FAS 5 process.
  • Handle special projects, such as recommending improvements to account reconciliations and other accounting processes, manage the quarter-end accounting requirements including, but not limited to, budget analysis, account reconciliations, accurate and timely reporting to management of all quarterly activity, cash taxes paid, and journal entries.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of accounting experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Three or more years of accounting experience, with an emphasis on tax account reconciliations.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, motivated, with strong PC skills and experience in data manipulation involving the use of Excel pivot tables.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of SAP and Blackline.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability of work-product accuracy.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications tax compliance.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes (all journal entries to account for FAS 5 activities).
