What you’ll be doing...

As the Principal Technical Project Manager (TPM) you will be part of the Southwest Market In-Building Team. You will help to build the foundation that keeps us in front of the competition. The work you will be doing will deliver the network infrastructure and solutions for new In-building platforms, products and services throughout the Southwest Region. We will look to you to meet critical deadlines for In-Building projects of all sizes, solve the complex problems that the SW In-Building Team may face and drive specified initiatives through extensive reporting methods such as presentations and progress dashboards. Your role will be pivotal in coordinating project activities with multiple teams both internal and external to the Southwest Market.

This position will require extreme organization and the ability to manage expectations above, below, and across the organization. This person will be responsible for interacting with HQ teams, planning teams, and the local network teams. The ideal candidate will have the experience to hold meaningful conversations with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for aligning current and future budget needs of the program and be able to present a yearly budget plan that is derived from scheduled meetings with network teams and stakeholders. You will partner with Operations and Network Performance Teams to provide a better experience to our Verizon customers.

  • Leading multiple small, medium, and some large and complex In-Building projects leveraging the Network Project Management framework.
  • Developing end-to-end project plans to guide the implementation of network infrastructure and services.
  • Develop dashboards to relate project status, gating items, roadblocks, and run rates for a total program view.
  • Work with the program intake process, prioritize with business, assign, and drive through to release delivery holding various Network teams, Operations teams, contractors and stakeholders accountable for commitment on deliverables.
  • Prepare presentations defining the current and future state of the In-Building program project status to ensure project benefits are achieved upon delivery in a timely manner.
  • Performs Project Management activities such as planning, sizing, defining units of work delivery, configuration, resourcing, and scheduling.
  • Provide leadership reporting on projects via team status reports.
  • Drives resolutions and project delivery through partnership with the business and key stakeholders.
  • Apply project management skills to organize and drive a program that consists of hundreds of projects.
  • Utilize existing knowledge of wireless networks and operations to drive efficient communication streams across various teams and organizations.
  • Drive construction teams to hit monthly goals.
  • Drive equipment suppliers and manufacturers to deliver on our needs.
  • Manage external vendors for equipment forecasts and delivery.
  • Leads discussions during daily, weekly, and monthly meetings on project status, risks, tasks, milestones, and problem resolution.
  • Identify, catalog, and assign actions for follow up by team members and/or leadership escalation.
  • Direct the development of new processes and workflows to ensure the success of the SW In-Building Team.
  • Leading project update meetings for leadership and finding creative ways to problem solve.
  • Driving results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures.
  • Managing multiple simultaneous projects within scope, on time and budget.
  • Focusing on process and the customer experience.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in 4G, 5G, and CRAN network architectures.
  • Knowledge of wireless In-Building DAS and DRAN system architectures.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • A PMI Agile and/or PMP certification.
  • Experience with iBwave.
  • Collaboration and communication skills with the ability to formulate communications appropriate for all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of agile, scrum and Kanban methodologies applied to project management.
  • The propensity to drive critical timelines and derive workflow timetables and models that are implemented to reduce time to market.
  • Strong organizational skills and understand the need for proper and effective data management.
