Our Network is at the center of this next technological evolution, and Verizon Engineering is key to the revolution's success. As a member of our Global Network and Technology Organization, as a Network Engineering Supervisor you will work with dozens of like-minded, bright individuals who want to enable and positively transform our Customer's day-to-day lives.

Supervisor will lead and support a team of technicians that troubleshoot and triage Verizon Business Long Distance DS0 and DS1 trunks in a 24X6 center environment.

The Trunk Provisioning Maintenance Team (TPM) provides T1 maintenance for the U.S and parts of Canada. The team gives support to various VzB teams across the network such as Voice, Routing and Wireless. The team restores troubled T1 trunks by testing and troubleshooting statewide Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) to resolve trunk outages and call failures. The team help preserve network reliability and decrease outage time.

TPM gives high priority to 911 circuits across the country. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of integrity, professionalism, fairness, and confidentiality in all aspects of job performance You’ll need strong verbal/written communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Supervisor will be responsible to manage escalations as well as communicate status updates with internal Verizon teams, CLECs and customers as needed.

  • Partner and test automation procedures to complete migrations and Implementations at an accelerated pace.
  • Lead technical project and maintenance discussions developing and presenting complex technical documentation.
  • Track progress and manage deliverables both in-team and cross-functional within Engineering and external Application teams, to ensure successful and appropriate implementations and resolution.
  • Provide top-tier technical support to Operations on related networking issues on our owned environment.
  • Flexibility to host and engage on calls and bridges 24 hours 7 days a week regarding major/critical network outages.
  • Participate in, and at times, resolution ideas and suggestion of redesign discussions with Vendors, Engineering, and Planning and peer Design teams, to develop new secure transport systems solutions.
  • Work closely with T3, Voice, and Traffic teams to develop and test clear and accurate migration path procedures to move customer traffic between embedded and directional architectures, while ensuring customer impact and downtime are zero.
  • Complete administrative duties such as timesheets, performance reviews, coaching, and weekly assignment schedules.

You will be working in Verizon’s Enterprise Ticket Management System (ETMS).

Monitoring Avaya CMS Supervisor Web (ACD).

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with voice switching network and technology.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting DS0 and DS1 trunks.
  • Supervisory/Operations experience.
  • Willingness to work various shifts as well as on-call rotations based on the needs of the business.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience managing complex troubles through to resolution.
  • Experience coordinating representation from integral teams and hosting conference bridges.
  • Ability to create partnerships with various CLECs around the country.
  • Compliance of union contract and FCC regulations.
