Responsibilities

 

 

This position is responsible for the proper Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of a wide array of Network Elements related to Cell Site Locations.

Duties in Support of Interdepartmental Objectives include:

  • Support the Installation, Integration, Operation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Optimization of any and all Cell Site Equipment Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent preferred.
  • Support Building, Roof Top Sites, Tower inspection, and Ground upkeep.
  • Support Integration, Testing, Operation, and Troubleshooting of Network Hardware and Interconnect Facilities including Alcatel Lucent 7705’s routers, EBH, Fiber, Fujitsu 9500, SAR 18’s and 8’s, Aviat Microwave, Dark Fiber, etc.
  • Support Installation, Testing, and Maintenance of Fujitsu 9500, Ericsson LTE Macro-cells and Alcatel Lucent 850 and 1900 MHz Macro Cells, Small Cells, In-Building systems, Repeaters, Outdoor Equipment, and DAS systems.
  • Basic Testing and inspection of Generators, Batteries, and Power Plants 

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Support Maintaining Cell Site, Dark Fiber Ring and Test Equipment Inventories
  • Support Maintain various data base(s) integrity updates
  • Testing, Monitoring and Analyzing Network Coverage to ensure contiguous communication to support Network Integrity and Quality
  • Updating Daily Logs with site-specific information and all work related activities.
  • Compose clear and concise reports for system documentation and Manager review
  • Support performing audits as required by Local, Regional, Area, Corporate, and/or Regulatory agencies
  • Able to work On-Call, Nights, and Weekends as required.

The Associate Technician – Cells is expected to be able to perform his duties with some supervision and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

  
 

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor degree preferred or minimal of 2-year Technical Degree
  • Minimum experience plus electronics training in one or more of the following fields: Telecommunications, Cell Infrastructure, In Building, or Microwave radio
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following technologies and/or platforms:
    • Lucent CDMA and Ericsson LTE, Voice and Data Cell Infrastructure experience including, DAS Systems, Small Cells, VoLTE, Microwave, etc.
    • Telecom experience including EBH, Fiber, Routers 7705/SAR-18, DACS, etc
    • Computer experience including equipment hardware upgrades, configurations, and troubleshooting experience
    • Antenna PIM testing and BTS calibrations
    • Generators, Power and Battery Plant DC distribution systems experience including Operation and Maintenance of various systems and components.
  • Basic training in at least 3 of the following areas: Data Communications, Digital Communications, Operating Systems and Applications, Telecommunications, Computer Support, Project Management, Generator Management and Power Plant Solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to climb ladders
