What you’ll be doing...

The Corporate Systems Group (CSG) is responsible for strategy and implementation of systems solutions that support ERP (Enterprise Resource Platform) activity for Verizon Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, HR and Payroll. The Principle Engineer-Systems Engineering position is the interface between different stakeholder groups and is comprehensively responsible for the design and delivery of large-scale, complex ERP programs with a significant impact on Verizon. This role will specifically focus on the Enterprise Asset Management, Supply Chain processes in the areas of SAP EAM, Inventory Management, Planning, and Procurement with complex integration to key Verizon Network systems.

This individual will be technical product owner for SAP S/4 HANA supply chain product team and will interface with business, platform architects, agile teams, S&O for successful implementation of the projects. We are looking for an SAP S4 expert with capabilities in a majority of the following areas: Enterprise Asset Management, Procure to Pay, MRP Processing, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Quality Management, and Ariba.
Applicant needs a deep understanding of the support required for the enterprise asset management, supply chain landscape including integration with Network Engineering and Ariba systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Defining business requirements, lead the design and implementation process, test application capabilities, and train other team members and business users.
  • Proactively working with the end-user community to improve business processes and procedures.
  • Leading the product journey from ideation to implementation by partnering with business stakeholders.
  • Defining and re-engineering business systems or information technology processes by using appropriate methods and tools and partnering with process owners to understand requirements.
  • Partnering with vendors and participating in various SAP conferences, innovations and design workshops to build innovative capabilities in the product roadmap.
  • Working closely with the Platform Services team to assure a timely solution according to the specifications and implementation of business needs.
  • Leading within a shared team to execute, status, and resolving Functional Unit (FUT), Integrated (ITC), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) issues.
  • Using a flexible and collaborative work approach to solve complex problems and to develop customer specific solutions - taking into account multiple internal and external stakeholder groups and different level of stakeholder groups (e.g., Top-Management) with various/changing stakeholder demands/requirements and intersections (e.g., IT, Finance, AP, SC, Top-management level).
  • Adhering to Verizon policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • BA/BS degree with concentration in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Information Technology or Information Systems or four or more years of experience.
  • Four or more years of directly-related experience with a strong design background in SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Experience with full lifecycle SAP and/or ERP implementations.
  • Experience with SAP EAM-Plant maintenance configuration and integrations.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
  • Working experience with Handheld Scanning devices to support network equipment tracking, auditing, and Warehouse IM goods movement routines.
  • Proven past success with large system program implementations with SAP S4/HANA landscape in Plant Maintenance, Inventory Management, 3PL Integrations, to support equipment movements, statuses across supply chain.
  • Well-versed in researching and identifying SAP Notes to resolve any product gaps.
  • Experience with design and development of Warehouse Scanning solutions covering materials good movements at Field Operations including warehousing goods movements/ tracking.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced changing environment with good time-management skills and the ability to manage teams independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication and organizational skills and the ability to deliver across levels.
  • Demonstrated highly-developed team leadership skills and the ability to manage internal / external resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and remain focused through change or uncertainty.
  • Experience in executive communication including presentation preparation and delivery.
  • Agile delivery expertise in an ERP landscape.
  • Experiencing managing across multiple time zones.
  • Telecommunications experience.
  • SAP Supply Chain technical and functional architecture and data modeling skills along with new and emerging SAP capabilities.
  • Formal training and/or certifications in the SAP product family.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple cross divisional work process and projects.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and mentor junior staff.
  • Previous people management or supervisory experience.
