The Strategy Consulting team with Verizon’s Corporate Strategy organization holds a key role in shaping this new path. We challenge ourselves to solve top-of mind strategic questions, collaborating with leaders and experts across the organization. We do so by leveraging the multi-faceted background of our team consisting of former management consultants, financial services professionals, data scientists and technology experts. We are responsible for challenging the status quo, looking beyond the horizon, and making the future real, role-modeling the new Verizon 2.3 way of working that builds on customer centricity, collaboration and innovation to drive positive change.

As a Director Corporate Strategy, Strategic Initiatives, you will:

  • Drive and lead analysis & solution development for key business challenges to enable new growth and value opportunities across a swiftly dynamic and highly competitive business environment
  • Provide critical thinking & sharp problem-solving skills (e.g., data-backed analysis, data science tools, valuation methods, hypothesis-driven approach, research & strategy frameworks) to guide the design & execution of new solutions
  • Frame and analyze complex problems - evaluating an internal client's business objectives and offering guidance and insight into the customer value proposition, cost, time and resource implications for a given decision, relative to other options
  • Partner to drive execution - working alongside leaders to drive execution, facilitating governance and communication processes for select projects
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders - working closely with business and functional leaders on cross-functional growth initiatives, designing blueprints for new ways of working, and other disciplines
  • Develop new strategic capabilities - Collaborate with data scientists to build analytics solutions focused on embedding AI/ML into critical business decisions and processes to elevate value-creation and customer experience
  • Lead a high-performing team of problem solvers from various disciplines who are committed to driving profitable growth & value generation across the company

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, MBA or Master’s degree

  • 10+ years of relevantwork experience

  • 3 or more years in a Tier 1 management consulting firm

Even better if you have:

  • Preferred consulting experience working with telecom and technology clients

  • Experience in a leadership role responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a strategic plan for an organization, company or business unit

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, meet deadlines, and simultaneously lead teams on multiple projects

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships

  • Comfortable working up and across the organization - working with senior staff members in line and staff organizations

  • Experience creating and presenting presentations to all levels of an organization

  • Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways

  • Broad business knowledge in telecom and technology sectors

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills in combination with experience in corporate finance and financial modeling

  • Experience with applying and developing data analytics tools, big data and ML

  • Experience handling highly confidential information appropriately
