What you’ll be doing...

The Manager of Media for Value Brands is responsible for driving the media strategy across all channels to drive growth for the Value Brands portfolio which include brands such as TracFone, Straight Talk and Visible. The Verizon Value organization will help further unlock our ability to enhance customer experiences on our industry-leading wireless network, delight customers more consistently with the right value propositions and drive growth in the value market.

Specific Value Brand responsibilities will be allocated across three Managers. They will act as a strategic thought partner for the Brand Marketing organization and have oversight of the extended media agency organization. We’re ultimately looking for someone willing to challenge the status quo to raise the bar with every campaign.

  • Developing the media strategy for full funnel media plans that connect our Value Brands with prospective consumers, leveraging audience insights and segmentation.
  • Setting campaign metrics/KPIs for overall media plan and specific media tactics/partners with priorities defined across measurement, analytics, learning, creative performance and media innovation.
  • Overseeing media plan execution and stewardship, tied to set metrics and goals, inclusive of day-to-day acquisition and optimizations of tactics.
  • Ensuring media plans are informed by data, insights and analytics – leverage this in media plan creation and day-to-day media optimizations.
  • Leading translation of campaign briefs into media briefs to clearly articulate strategy, vision and direction for the media agency.
  • Leading and collaborating with Value Brands business unit and agency partners to ensure marketing and promotional plans are brought to life in media execution.
  • Clearing communication and presentations to Value Brands business unit to ensure clarity on role of media channels and metrics and delivery of data and performance to key stakeholders.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in leading media teams that appreciate the role of media tactics and channels across the full funnel but also specializes in lower funnel (performance) media.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in Telecom and/or Financial category.
  • Experience in digital media plans that leverage audience segmentation, custom creative, DCO, retail media ad products/offerings (ie: Amazon, Walmart, etc), knowledge of programmatic, geo and hyper targeting, retargeting etc.
  • Experience in managing through ambiguity, balancing multiple dynamic priorities but pushing for clarity and aligned direction.
  • Influential storytelling skills, both verbal and written (concise and simple to follow).
  • Ability to understand business strategy and correlate business outcomes to media actions/KPIs.
  • Knowledge of Google suite / Excel and PowerPoint, proficiency with creating visual presentations.
  • Experience in digital performance with understanding of technology that underpins and enables maximum performance.
  • Experience in client-side organizations and/or working senior level client stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with non-directs to drive change.
  • Ability to inspire confidence with internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to be Collaborative; willing to roll up their sleeves with the team but provide direction with accountability so the team to make decisions and move fast.
