What you’ll be doing...

As a member of the Center of Excellence (CoE), the Director provides overall strategic direction to the team responsible for designing and implementing Process and Systems improvements in the FP&A organization. This role is responsible for the overall budget and operations of the process & systems improvement team, working with CoE leaders to define solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of overall FP&A processes, and working with the Financial Systems Group (FSG) / Information Technology (IT) organizations to implement solutions aligned with business needs. In addition, the role manages the operating budget for the entire BPI function and partners with HR to drive all aspects of the employee life cycle.

Strategic Guidance & Management:

  • Govern the end-to-end FP&A process and system structure and data stewardship functions in support of the business (i.e. Corporate, Business Unit (BU), and Corporate Shared Services (CSS) including defining system requirements and providing initial user support).
  • Drives value to the CoE and business partners by applying business process and financial systems acumen to deliver high quality financial data, strategic insight and recommended course of actions to improve/ correct processes and systems and provide a better service.
  • Assesses business systems needs and opportunities, and develops action plans to enhance CoE value, and to deploy CoE resources to match changes in customer demand in partnership with Corporate, Business Unit (BU), Corporate Shared Services (CSS), Single Point of Contact (SPOC), and Financial Systems Group (FSG) teams.
  • Owns the refinement of FP&A process and improvement roadmap with FP&A teams in Corporate, BU, and CSS, and SPOC teams.
  • Ensures FP&A systems and deployment methods are strategically aligned with process standards.
  • Participates in BPI performance review meetings with key customers, identify opportunities to enhance services and value provided, implement action plans.
  • Manages workload capacity and bandwidth of BPI team, deploying resources as necessary to ensure the quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Manages the employee life cycle processes (Recruiting, Performance, Development, Career and Compensation).

Client Service:

  • Represent the FP&A organization into the FSG and IT organizations to ensure the delivery of high quality, timely and cost effective technology solutions.
  • Responsible for identifying system requirements and establishing structures to govern their operating model accountabilities working with Finance Systems
  • Act as liaison to identify strategic / longer term systems requirements and suggested funding approach as part of the central FS prioritization process
  • Identify tactical systems requirements and participate in SDLC activities (UAT, sign off, etc...)
  • Govern data objects and identify and control changes, ensuring compliance with the defined governance framework

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred in Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 9+ years of directly related experience with a strong management background working with major projects and initiatives.
  • Proven leadership & management skills.
  • Expert knowledge and technical acumen of business systems functionality and capabilities.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills; comfortable with presenting to executives.
  • Extensive experience and expert understanding in the design and interaction of business systems, data architecture, data sets and applications.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise financial systems and applications and multi-dimensional structures (i.e. CPM, Hyperion, Essbase).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Capable to lead and motivate multiple teams, exhibiting strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, SQL and/or similar tools.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
