What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking an Incumbent with proven Business, Technical and Project Management skills. The role is responsible for managing large and complex programs from end to end with an emphasis on cost, quality, optimization, rationalization and technology.

The role is responsible for analyzing IT category products, align with stakeholders, evaluate spend base, size each opportunity, to eventually develop fact pack for negotiation. The successful candidate will need to have strong business acumen and the ability to work within aggressive timelines while demonstrating out-of-the-box thinking. The ability to work collaboratively and to diplomatically challenge the status quo to achieve the business targets is critical. In addition, the incumbent will need to develop a deep understanding of the business and customer needs in order to manage a balance between strategic and tactical activities.

  • IT level discussions with IT planning team to understand technology roadmap and associated products and categories
  • Conduct technology, financial and cost analysis to develop Should-Cost model for selected products and categories
  • Recommend and support IT with rationalization of technical requirements during Could-Cost phase
  • Responsible for construction and accomplishment of the Fact pack
  • Primary liaison to IT team
  • Prepare and execute cross-functional ‘conventions’ with Category Sourcing Analysts, IT, Sourcing and other stakeholders
  • Ability to identify the must-have and nice-to-have requirements
  • Manage prioritization of clean-sheeting for Maintenance & Services
  • Overall responsibility for end state Fact pack for negotiation
  • Total ownership for developing Detailed Category Strategy
  • Drive Competitive intelligence
  • Develop detailed Playbooks for negotiations with backup plan (to leverage fact pack, cost analysis & competitive intelligence)
  • Conduct financial and quality analysis in order to identify the benefits for the proposed negotiation strategy
  • Recommend and drive the implementation of program changes and quality improvement utilizing various methods including but not limited to quality data analytics.
  • Understand and align the needs of the business with other ancillary programs through cosmetic and quality alignment
  • Process engineer the design of various processes for existing and new programs.
  • Lead the analysis of selected devices to develop should cost model
  • Report progress weekly and decide which issues strategically need to be communicated to stakeholders.
  • Support monthly Supply Chain Scorecard and quarterly management review meetings preparations.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Problem solving, drive, leadership, coordination, and ability to embrace change
  • 6-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as GSuite applications.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment in order to achieve team goals.
