What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for software development supporting Verizon’s external single sign-on (SSO) identity user experience, business objects and RESTful services, and second line production support for Verizon’s external customers’ single sign-on suite of applications supporting Verizon’s customer facing websites, mobile applications, TV platforms, and various vendor partners. This is an entry level position responsible for front-end web development tailoring user experience and visual components building responsive design solutions with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technologies, and core Java development business objects, REST API services and SQL database.

  • Working with application development team leads to review provided application software designs and user experience and implement software changes in support of these designs.
  • Developing and testing Java front-end web application software.
  • Developing and testing Java middleware and business objects including REST APIs.
  • Making changes to system documentation.
  • Utilizing Verizon’s DevOps source and object code libraries and configuration management procedures.
  • Confirming to existing industry and Verizon security coding standards adhering to fortify scan and other security tool review requirements.
  • Providing code review and documentation in support thereof, for code inspection reviews as part of the DevOps software packaging and deployment lifecycle.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • One or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Development experience on Java / J2EE development, including web (JSP/HTML/CSS/ /JavaScript/jQuery) and object oriented programming experience.
  • Experience with JavaScript development utilizing Bootstrap and Spring frameworks.
  • Understanding of Eclipse and JUnit tools.
  • Understanding of IP, HTTP / HTTPs protocols.
  • Knowledge of React, AngularJS or Node.js JavaScript frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Fortify or software scanning tools.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD process in particular - GIT (Bitbucket), Jenkins, Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience with Google drive suite services (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
  • Self-starter abilities with strong self-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Technology savvy with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capability to present findings concisely and effectively to critical audiences.
