What you’ll be doing...

Join our Global Technology Compliance Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) team focused on the planning and successful completion of SOX audits.

  • Coordinate with IT teams, IT Risk Management, external/ internal auditors and IT upper management to ensure that audits are performed in a systematic manner, gather status updates, keep teams informed of requirements, and report on significant issues and dates.
  • When issues occur, meet with teams and management to define and drive resolution.
  • Drive the focus to complete the quarterly reviews by the due date to ensure compliance.
  • Lead when issues are raised by the external auditor; investigate, determine if the issue is valid and if not, provide appropriate argument to prove the issue does not exist.
  • Lead the SOX Focal Point (SFP) program, meeting with SFP from all IT organizations to communicate and train through regular meetings.
  • Manage the quarterly UAR/SOD processes by communicating the requirements, providing individual training to the Control Performer, if needed, and conducting reviews of the work performed.
  • If needed, engage upper management support to ensure resources are able to complete tasks on time.
  • Work with the teams by conducting reviews/ audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned SOX Controls.
  • Drive efficiencies in the audit process with the goal of reducing impact to the IT Teams.
  • Drive the reduction of redundant/ similar audit requests, be aware of all evidence being transferred to the audit team, review new requests and communicatewith the auditors to identifyevidence already collected that may equally satisfy their new requests.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and audits.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Knowledge of the current landscape and technologies in use by Verizon IT.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and DevOps methodologies.
  • Ability to work with various teams and at all levels of management to build relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
