What you’ll be doing...

Join our Information Technology team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers’ needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will regularly lead multiple small to medium-size projects and perform project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuring and scheduling. You will develop resolutions to complex problems creatively and make decisions that impact projects & staff members.

We are looking for an outstanding Lead System Administrator to support key applications, many of them considered critical in maintaining, provisioning, and monitoring Verizon’s global network. Candidate will play a key role in all new departmental initiatives while continuing to ensure the availability/stability of existing functionality.

This position is in a team of engineers, which provides 7x24 support in test/prod environments. The candidate is mainly responsible for maintaining highly visible production systems. Immediate participation in an active on call rotation required.

Candidate must be well-versed in operational support systems and the role they play in providing outstanding network support. He or she will have to keep abreast of new features and technical trends within the industry and be able to successfully communicate and apply those with application counterparts.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux and UNIX based systems, experience troubleshooting OS and applications running on these systems.
  • Experience administering and supporting Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

Even better if you’ll have:

  • A degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of HDS, PureStorage, 3Par SAN storage arrays and fabric networks.
  • Experience with administering Oracle, HP, Cisco, Rack and Blade Server Hardware.
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation platforms (RPA).
  • Provisioning and Administration of RPA with Automation Anywhere.
  • Strong knowledge and administration of backup platforms with Netbackup.
  • Troubleshooting skills across technical domains and platforms. Including multivendor servers, storage and networks.
  • Ability to create and operate highly available and high volume data processing architecture.
  • Strong leadership experience with team of engineers.
  • Communication & stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • Experience with programming, scripting and other automation tools like Ansible/Perl/Python.
  • Experience with Automation Anywhere Robotic Process Automation tools and technologies.
