What you’ll be doing...

The Wireline Operations Controls Center (OCC) provides provisioning, maintenance and dispatch support to the Retail, Wholesale and Enterprise business customer base and is open 24 hours, 365 days a year. We provide support for every product level from POTS service to Optical Carrier Systems. As a member of the operations center team you will be a part of a very high paced and customer focused work environment. The position requires strong leadership skills as well as team and personal accountability.

This Supervisor position is for the Northeast region High Bandwidth (HBW) provisioning team, with an initial focus on dark fiber provisioning. You will work closely with engineering, central office, dispatch, and field teams to ensure all milestones are meet and circuits are fully tested prior to turn up.

In addition, the position will be included in the Data Services Assurance Center (DSAC) coverage for the Verizon Wireline Operations footprint (MA, RI, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA and DC). We are a 24x7 customer facing operation and the coverage will require being included in a weekend rotation.

  • Leading a team of 10-15 skilled, union-represented technicians in an office environment.
  • Setting clear objectives, assessing performance and coaching for improvement.
  • Establishing clear roles, responsibilities and work assignments.
  • Administering training plans to support new technology and a growing customer base.
  • Responding to a very high volume of critical escalation´s in a timely manner.
  • Partnering with, and escalating to our internal supplier organizations to resolve troubles.
  • Administering processes and policies as they relate to safety, attendance, performance, work rules, and code of conduct.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in network/operations.
  • Two or more years of Network office or related field experience with designed circuits.
  • Knowledge of V-Repair, COA dispatch, WFA-DO, WFA-C, and WFA-DI.
  • Knowledge of union contracts and labor relations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
