What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking a Network Engineering and Operations Engineer who is highly motivated, and intellectually inquisitive with a passion for delivering results that matter. In this position, you will develop a mind for missions, apply network solutions, manage projects from start to finish, and ultimately solve problems that really matter. Responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Learning and applying new technical skills to support interdepartmental objectives (e.g., support for responding to Robo-Call activities, VoIP Switching, Traffic Monitoring, completing Traceback requests, performing Network Blocking).
  • Performing advanced analytics using vendor provided software systems (e.g., Empirix, IRISview).
  • Using big data engines, providing deep data analytics to solve complex network issues (e.g., one-ring call scams, call spoofing, fraud).
  • Communicating escalations directly and working directly with a multiplicity of support teams for immediate attention to mass calling events, Network SPAM, and call spoofing cases.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to follow documented processes and procedures.
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • The ability to solve complex problems creatively.
  • The ability to work with internal and external organizations by coordinating, troubleshooting, and driving the remediation of network events.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrable kill in scripting languages (e.g., Python, No-JS, Perl).
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment and support any shift.
