What you’ll be doing...

As a Learning & Development Manager – Project and Process Manager, you will report to an Associate Director, Learning & Development. You will be primarily responsible for project managing select learning solutions, in collaboration with Instructional Designers, from original concept through final implementation. In addition, you’ll be responsible for project managing the implementation of internal L&D process improvement initiatives and recommending process improvements to elevate efficiencies and effectiveness of internal L&D processes. Other responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Project managing learning solutions and internal L&D process improvement initiatives (i.e., defining the project, planning, analysis design, management/execution, review).
  • Enhancing the efficiency of instructional design processes and internal L&D processes.
  • Acting as business/performance consultant and collaborating with stakeholders and L&D team members to identify and translate business needs into formal and specific training requests.
  • Helping to create learner-centered design and development plans into learning solutions via execution of project plans.
  • Collaborating and influencing the direction and outcome of projects/programs to ensure that the customer experience, learner experience, business expectations, and L&D needs are met.
  • Overseeing selectin projects (i.e., planning, execution, assessing trainer readiness, budget, stakeholder feedback, and program evaluation/analysis).
  • Working with Verizon professionals (e.g., program/product managers, sales professionals, leadership, operations, and training resources) to receive, analyze, prioritize, and project manage training development and delivery requests.
  • Providing regular updates via formal and informal meetings on progress of projects and results.
  • Partnering with development managers and instructional designers to ensure learning solutions are created to meet business needs, close skill gaps and provide reinforcement strategies.
  • Working collaboratively with instructional designers to achieve goals for quality, quantity and timeliness of launch for learning solutions.
  • Developing solutions to complex problems that require frequent use of creativity and innovation.
  • Analyzing situations and processes which require an in-depth evaluation (i.e., exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results).
  • Establishing and implementing a measurement plan for all managed projects.
  • Leading and inspiring teams to meet project objectives.
  • Recommending, teaching, mentoring, and assisting to upskill designers.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience leveraging project management methodologies.
  • Experience in L&D Design processes (e.g., ADDIE model or similar).
  • Project management certification or applied experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Master’s degree in related field (e.g., Human Resources, Organizational Development).
  • Process improvement certification or experience.
  • The ability to perform effectively in team-based environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Expertise in L&D tools and professional trends.
  • Advanced consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with applying Kirkpatrick’s evaluation methods.
