What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is a Fortune 500 company providing Security and Network services to Enterprise and Government clients across the globe.

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer for our Lifecycle Engineering division. This division owns the customer’s managed network architecture and is responsible for advanced troubleshooting of incidents and implementing changes to a dynamically growing network architecture.

The engineers in this team are assigned to a specific client. The designated Tier 3 Engineer provides 3rd level operations support for bespoke network solutions which includes hands on troubleshooting, implementation of changes and maintaining technical documentation and defining operational processes. This role works in a blended service delivery model that combines with shared personnel to provide customers with a cost effective service provider solution that also maintains a personal touch to meet their specific needs.

As a Senior Engineer, you provide in-depth technical expertise for a complex and bespoke managed network solution or technology and be final escalation and or support for our Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers. You will be a trusted business partner for our customer and join major incident conference calls to assist in troubleshooting activities

We are seeking for someone who is flexible with work hours – Shift will be between 7 am to 11 pm. Role can be based out of Prague or Ostrava. However for Prague based candidates, they should be willing to travel to Ostrava once or twice a week.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent Routing and Switching skills
  • Relevant experience in a senior role in a network operations centre and or managed service environment
  • Proven experience in implementing complex and design impacting changes
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
  • Fluency in English

Even better if you have:

  • Advanced degree in IT
  • Mentoring Tier 1 and Tier 2 members and providing them with technical guidance
  • Experience with documenting and writing reports and presenting to higher management
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Industry Certifications
    • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
    • ITIL or Project Management
