What you’ll be doing...

Skyward, A Verizon company is hiring an sUAS Sales Engineer capable of providing small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) regulatory, technical, and operational expertise for Skyward’s prospective and current clients. The ideal candidate has extensive and documented experience working with SaaS based software solutions in emerging technology. The candidate must be able to relate complex technical concepts in a meaningful and impactful way that resonate with multiple industry experts. As a close partner of our Sales and Customer Success teams, Sales Engineers own key components of the sales process including infrastructural/architectural discovery, collaborative solution design, and technical validation. Our ideal candidate will be able to explain the benefits of our service and approach to multiple stakeholders including C-Level executives. Sales Engineers at Skyward will be a conduit to the rest of the organization, relaying relevant date points to Product and Engineering. This role may travel up to 50% of the time and will have the opportunity to work with teams around the country, from construction and media to energy and utility organizations. The candidate must demonstrate strong competency with aviation and occupational safety principles and best practices as they relate to sUAS operations.

What you’ll be doing...

This sUAS SalesEngineer will work closely with Skyward Sales Team to deliver sUAS regulatory, technical, and operational expertise as it relates to the Skyward application.

  • Develop Skyward Sales opportunities across multiple geographies, industries, and use cases
  • Discovery consultations to understand sUAS use case, program organization, operating procedures
  • Create demos and technical proofs-of-concepts to demonstrate our features in real work scenarios
  • Communicate customer needs and product feedback to product management, marketing, and sales
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure that new customers successfully implement and launch their program
  • Support Sales Enablement in rolling out new technical concepts to the Sales and CS teams
  • Recommend and develop regulatory approach for enabling client sUAS use case
  • Recommend and conduct proof-of-concept validation of technical approaches for enabling client use case
  • Meet with Skyward clients remotely or in-person as part of sales or services engagements
  • Present Skyward software solutions to a large audience and receive a number of questions that relate to the scenario that is most effective for the client
  • Manage multiple opportunities across multiple Sales Reps

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, sUAS, or comparable fields or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years in Sales Engineering or Solution Consulting in a SaaS based business
  • Documented 3+ years experience as a Commercial sUAS operator in the USA
  • Experience with obtaining sUAS airspace authorizations in the USA
  • Experience with obtaining waivers to 14 CFR Part 107

Even better if you have

  • Ability to learn the Skyward SaaS platform (web & mobile apps) at expert-level proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing scenarios
  • Experience with sUAS industry understanding and concepts
  • Ability to read and understand aviation regulatory, policy, operational requirements and reconcile them with client business needs in order to recommend best practices for the employment of sUAS
  • Familiarity with small unmanned aircraft system operations, equipment and performance characteristics
  • Able to travel within the continental USA and internationally to a lesser extent
