Verizon is looking for a Product Manager to help define and build its product strategy around 5G and edge computing. 5G will usher in the 4th industrial revolution where companies, big and small, will redefine the way they work through automation and real-time insights into their business processes. The massive bandwidth, device density, ultra-low latency, and battery efficiency of 5G coupled with Edge Compute will empower people, devices, and systems to interact efficiently and safely in a highly automated environment.

In this position, the Product Manager will define the vertical solutions for our retail industry portfolio, leveraging Verizon’s network and edge computing technologies. As a Product Manager, you will have responsibility for our retail vertical products within the IoT Organization supporting the Verizon business units. This responsibility will include strategy and end-to-end product lifecycle management that includes Platforms, Hardware, Value Added Services & Partnerships in support of retail solutions.

  • Manage a portfolio developing innovative solutions and managing product life cycles end-to-end, including market opportunity assessment, competitive analysis, product strategy, business case, capability roadmap, customer experience, operational excellence, and sales enablement & support.
  • Align across partner products to produce value added solutions in 5G, Security & Managed Services.
  • Develop execution plan of approved strategy projects for our retail vertical focused on leveraging our Private 5G/LTE, Public-Private MEC & Developer Ecosystems (APIs & Digital).
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships & new channel opportunities.
  • Lifecycle management strategy for converting existing base & develop and execute strategy to grow additional IoT revenues.
  • Define and drive the strategic direction and competitive positioning of the products across multiple sales channels and customer segments.
  • Prioritize initiatives and allocate investment of capital and expenses to maximize impact.
  • Drive product development initiatives to launch on-time and within budget.
  • Establish and execute go-to-market plans and drive post-launch activity to ensure revenue forecasts are achieved.
  • Grow solutions revenue and profitability to positively impact shareholder value.
  • Track and analyse key performance metrics on a monthly basis and forecast product revenues.
  • Ensure winning customer value propositions and exceptional customer experiences end-to-end.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor of Science.
  • Seven or more years of product management experience delivering to Enterprise clients.
  • Understanding of the competitive marketplace for cloud service providers.
  • Experience deploying products in solutions in cloud environments servicing the retail industry.
  • Understanding of device clients, platform capabilities and APIs.
  • Experience launching business products/capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to drive, lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic perspective and customer focus.
  • Experience managing across multiple technology partners.
  • Knowledge of retail vertical drivers, opportunity, and trends (e.g. - inventory management, shopper engagement, asset protection, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Brands and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
  • Understanding of and relationships with leading OEM’s, value-added resellers (VAR), and systems integrators within the retail industry.
  • Product experience with retail personalization and omni channel-shopper.
  • Knowledge of Open Retail Initiatives (e.g. - Retail Next, etc.).
  • Data generation layer (e.g. - video analytics, POS, shopper track, RFID).
  • Experience within integrating with retail vertical system integrator (e.g. – SAP, JDA, Manhattan Associates)
  • Experience with AI and its application to retail practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Financial acumen, with a balanced blend of business and technical savvy.
  • Communication and presentations skills with demonstrated experience communicating to senior leadership stakeholders.
