The Chief of Staff position will provide Program/Project Management and Operations Support to the Verizon Chief Media Officer Organization. This position is responsible for the end-to-end project/program management of highly complex, Media, Sponsorship and Digital Marketing programs. The position reports directly into the Chief Media Officer.

  • Operate as key point of contact for the Chief Media Officer with representatives across HR, Employee Communications, Employee Relations, IT, Legal, CMO & BU teams as well as external partners.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams utilizing project management processes. Establish and monitor master project plans, acquisition and coordination of resources (people or systems, internal or external).
  • Organize cross department meetings and initiatives, inclusive of required presentation materials.
  • Develop executive agendas, communication and meeting materials.
  • Serve as the proxy for Chief Media Officer when appropriate in meetings.
  • Coordinate across Director teams within the group on department wide initiatives/deliverables.
  • Oversee and coordinate executive administrative support team for the department.
  • Drive team and departmental growth and development inclusive of town halls, employee engagement and learning and development activities.
  • Oversee and manage departmental functions such as recruiting, new hire onboarding, T&E.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in program/project management.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree – MBA Preferred
  • A high level of initiative and independent decision making.
  • Experience in creating programs and processes that drive constancy to maximize speed of implementation.
  • Ability to effectively resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to establish plans, monitor and report on program/project status.
  • Capability to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Solid ability to identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action plans.
  • Ability to work accurately under time pressures and independently with minimal supervision in an environment with frequently changing business needs.
  • Exercised considerable judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Solid track record of exceeding targeted results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in creating presentation materials for executive review.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways.
  • Strong executive presence with comfort in working up and across the organization –working with executive staff within and across the organization.
  • Experience handling extremely confidential information appropriately.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Experience in project management tools and applications.
  • Relationship driven – built credible and trusting relationships with a broad range of colleagues, stakeholders and business partners.
  • Willingness to travel.
