What you’ll be doing...

The Vertical BD Manager is primarily responsible for business development and partnerships for VSC in the area of Public Safety The Vertical BD manager will have ownership of business success for the Public Safety vertical and will be responsible to drive business with various Public Safety/Law enforcement agencies on a nationwide basis. The Manager will create customer propositions and strategic partnership to guide VSC go-to-market activities in strong partnership with Product Management, Product Marketing, and regional and national field sales organization (VSC GTM, VZW, VBM/SLED, VES), Govt Affairs, Professional Services and others. S/he will act as the primary voice of the customer and will be communicating requirements, feedback, etc. to the product management teams and will also serve as a subject matter expert to assist field sales teams in designing and executing account and opportunity capture strategies.

  • Own the overall business success for the Public Safety vertical
  • Drive business with various Public Safety/Law enforcement agencies on a nationwide basis
  • Guide VSC go to market activities in Public Safety vertical
  • Represent Sales and voice of the customer to Product Management, Product Marketing, Operations and other internal stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and share a keen understanding of buyers, their needs, their influencers, and broader market dynamics in Public Safety.
  • Identify, engage and close strategic relationships with companies that can help VSC drive greater sales in Public Safety
  • Support the development and implementation of new business opportunities in collaboration with field sales teams
  • Enable sales teams through knowledge transfer and training, while also providing hands-on support in planning and execution of key deals.

What we’re looking for...

  • 10+ years of experience in creating, managing, selling and delivering complex solution sales with a minimum of 5+ years experience selling or supporting products targeted toward the public sector including cities, counties, and departments of public works.
  • Direct experience in any of the following industries like Public Safety, Law enforcement etc
  • Experience in selling, delivering, or supporting government or Public Safety customers with complex solutions involving cloud, security, professional services, IoT, SaaS and hardware.
  • Education: MBA preferred,bachelors degree in engineering or Public Safety related field with strong technology and analytical skills.
  • Experience developing and managing strategic partnerships or channel sales relationships
  • Ability to work across a large, matrixed organization with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Professional presentation and communication skills to address all levels of the City officials including Mayors, CIO, City Dept Heads, Police Chiefs as well as corporate executives
  • Ability to create excellent working relationships with diverse teams and job functions throughout the organization.
  • Responsive to client needs and changing requirements.
