FP&A Transformation Team

Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the FP&A Transformation team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. As a member of the FP&A Transformation team, you must use forward-thinking, out of the box ideas and innovation to ensure successful collaboration and transformation of Verizon Finance processes. This role will help to organize, create, communicate, and facilitate activities that allow the company to deliver on its Planning & Forecasting transformation goals while guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of superior networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

Project management is the art of making things happen. You will interact with Finance personnel across all lines of business on a regular basis. The successful candidate will also forge relationships with members of our Human Resources teams, Information Technology, Marketing, Operations and Real Estate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate the development of approaches and solutions required to implement Finance process transformation and improvements
  • Engage in multiple process development or improvement discussions as a lead or individual contributor to help in defining best practices for modeling key drivers of business performance and identifying and exploiting process opportunities, including process analysis, with considerations for the functional and logical system design and implementation
  • Develop relationships with Finance and Business leaders. Understand their concerns, requirements and priorities around planning and forecasting deliverables
  • Manage the mapping of the processes and collaborate with corresponding Transformation teams to ensure coordinated strategy and implementation
  • Manage specific components of the project, including, reviewing milestones put forth by the Transformation team, reviewing progress, reviewing status, supporting resource allocations and resolving conflicts
  • Make recommendations on establishing global policies and compliance adherence with these policies
  • Manage high visibility strategic projects
  • Create detailed project plans and communicate business updates
  • Identify global resource requirements and pull in the right people
  • Develop, reviews, and continuously improves processes
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate and reducing risk
  • Gain buy-in from stakeholders and those that will implement changes
  • Direct projects to ensure the successful development and execution of initiatives
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business
  • Support special projects, ad-hoc analysis, report and plan template solutions.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of professional experience with strong financial acumen, diverse operational experience, and proficiency in process analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite withfocus on Excel and PowerPoint.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with theability to focus on the details.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, PMP).
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Knowledge of financial planning.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.
  • Proficiency in reporting and planning applications (i.e. Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance, TM1, Anaplan, etc.).
  • Experience in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, SQL, and/or similar tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
