What you’ll be doing...

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Development of our iOS mobile application, including proven technical basis and recommendations for application design and architecture to support both scalability, performance, quality and a great user experience that aligns with overall Skyward Platform Architecture
  • Use Swift, Cocoa Touch, and other iOS frameworks and technologies to create and document clean, testable and secure code that implements high-quality features and functionalities for iOS mobile products
  • Collaborate with our Product Management and UX teams to convert functional and UX requirements into user interface design and implementation
  • Participate with Product Management in the definition, prioritization and sizing of requirements utilizing Agile methods
  • Establish and monitor best practices for the iOS mobile application suite, working across the team(s) and contracted resources
  • Lead by example and be a mentor to a team of engineers responsible for the Skyward Software Platform including Web, Mobile, and Services
  • Participate in product specifications through rapid iterative prototyping and UI simulations in code with live data
  • Collaborate with the engineering team; contribute to team meetings and sprint retrospectives
  • Contribute to the development of Skyward’s mobile architectural patterns to ensure scalable, reusable, reliable implementations
  • Practice Test Driven Development methodologies and share in testing best practice with an eye towards quality
  • Participate and, when required, lead code reviews and other code evaluations, as needed
  • Keep abreast of technology trends and best practices.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience with last 45+ years in developing iOS applications and leading delivery
  • 2+ years experience with Database technologies (Postgres, SQLite, MySql, etc) including SQL

Even better if you have:

  • Experience building applications in memory and network-constrained scenarios
  • Strong knowledge of iOS design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc)
  • Experience with continuous integration application delivery, including provisioning, deployment, testing and version control
  • Experience developing and implementing unit tests on a mobile platform
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative Agile team
  • Experience with Object-oriented design principles
