The Vendor / Field Service Manager is responsible for leading and inspiring a team of Field Support Reps and Third-Party Installation Vendors to effectively deploy Verizon Connect services and improve the overall customer experience. The position will report to the Senior Manager of Field support. The role will work closely with Sales, Customers, Vendors and other internal teams to ensure timely and accurate hardware installation for both new and existing customers. 

  • Responsible for the management two hundred or more third-party vendors including negotiating contracts.
  • Execute strategic and tactical plans to track, analyze, and improve all processes related to managing a large third-party vendor network.
  • Work in partnership with the Senior Manager of Field support to create a vendor management system to track quality control issues, vendor rankings, and other related incidents and performance to drive accountability in the field. 
  • Source and on-board new vendors through a rigorous qualification process.
  • Work effectively with vendor partners, drive operational rigor and vendor governance including implementation of training programs and certifications. 
  • Advise and Implement improvements to our internal Installer Application, including New Vendor Set up utilization reporting, general usage questions.
  • Maintaining Vendor information across all systems including coverage locations, pricing, and contact information.
  • Create accountability for Vendors / Field Service Reps through rigorous, and supportive, performance management.
  • Manage eight or moredirect reports who work may remotely and in the field on a day to day basis.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and ongoing performance management of a Deployment Services team.
  • Manage FSR travel and expense reports adhering to company travel policies for QC’s, Training, and Installation Projects.
  • Key escalation point for provisioning services, directing a team of field support representatives to care for the quick resolution of client issues.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional business partners to problem solve and ensure productive communication and implementation of processes.
  • Analyze key performance indicators, leveraging tools such as SalesForce.com, to gauge business health on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Identify, recommend, develop and implement current and new processes.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Works on short-term projects assigned by manager as needed.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in customer- facing role.
  • Three or more years of experience managing remote employees.
  • Three or more years of experience supervising a team.
  • Three or more years of experience managing 3rd party vendors. 
  • Knowledge of vehicle electronic components, telematics installations, hardware and electrical installations, etc. 

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Current MECP, ASE, OEM manufacturer certifications 
  • Lean Six Sigma (Any Level)
  • Vehicle Insurance Experience. 
  • Vehicle fire experience.
  • Vehicle repair experience.
  • Automotive electronic experience. 
  • Automotive mechanic experience. 
  • Telematics installation experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
