Position Summary

You will lead a team of QA Automation Engineers on the Hum Device Team located in Atlanta, GA responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering firmware for next generation in-vehicle telematics devices. As a QA Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality of device firmware deliverables by enhancing automated test frameworks, writing automated tests, maintaining QA related metrics, and upholding/enhancing QA related processes while providing leadership to establish best practices and grow the team and individuals as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor, coach, and direct the work of QA professionals to ensure their success in our organization.
  • Being able to influence cross-functional teams of Product and Engineering subject matter experts will be a key component in the success of this role.
  • Establish best practices to design and enhance automated test frameworks and test suites for Firmware products.
  • Implement algorithms for testing new product features.
  • Work closely with Product Management and Developers to review feature requirements to plan for automated testing.
  • Design, document, and execute test procedures.
  • Perform testing of individual bug fixes and features on firmware deliverables.
  • Perform regression testing on firmware deliverables.
  • Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and file bug tickets as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain metrics on tests such as code coverage.
  • Guide development of automated simulation and test algorithms to detect errors in embedded systems.
  • Work with real time operating systems and communication protocols such as LTE, WiFi, BTLE, TCP/IP, and GPS.
  • Work with Project Management to provide "Levels of Effort" and form project schedules for QA activities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of QA experience.
  • Three or more years ofexperience managing QA teams.
  • Experience with C and at least one OO language (e.g. C++, C#, Java, or Python).
  • Experience reading/writing code down to a white box level and providing root cause analysis.
  • Experience with unit, integration, and system level testing on embedded software platforms.
  • Experience with test runners and test management systems (e.g. Robot Framework, TestRail,..).

Even better if you have…

  • A degree in EE, CE, or CS.
  • Eight or more years of QA experience.
  • Experience with Hardware in the Loop (HiL) testing.
  • Passion for inspiring trust and respect of a team to stimulate production within the workplace.
