What you’ll be doing...

As the Data Science Technology Manager within the Marketing Technology (Martech) Management team, you will be responsible for shaping / advancing the data science and decision science capabilities of VBG Marketing and designing/delivering the technology infrastructure (platforms) necessary to enable data science capabilities across the marketing organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, build and lead a comprehensive, ext-gen technology foundation and analytics capability roadmap. You will lead the process to develop quarterly and multi-year strategic technology plan.
  • Work closely with senior global business and IT leaders and their teams, to define and align data science technology strategy, prioritization and implementation.
  • Be on top of cutting-edge technology trends in data and decision sciences, bring in industry standard methodologies through customer research. Identify, evangelize and drive innovation proof of concepts, pilots to support the analytics team in proposing “art of the possible”.
  • Conceive, design and prioritize technology projects based on needs and vision of the marketing analytics function. Own commercialization of technology platforms from conception to delivery partnering very closely with IT.
  • Manage and align the Marketing Analytics Vendor Platform scope, capabilities, roadmap and integrations.
  • Align channel platform data science / analytics technology capabilities and roadmap with the overall plan.
  • Be a conduit to rest of the tech stack business capability owners and be responsible for defining, building and evolving “real time integration” to drive insights to channel execution.
  • Actively manage upward and downward project pressures and work with business and IT to continuously realign projects, capabilities and costs to ensure cohesive and efficient technology development and implementation.
  • Support to align and influence projects to ensure appropriate packaging and execution of capabilities to maximize sponsorship, change management, adoption and support to drive tangible business impact.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of the IT function and how IT enables the business through effective strategic planning, governance and management discipline.
  • Experience managing technology projects with experience in implementations using agile methodology.
  • Experience designing and implementing service models for platforms (Centrally or locally).
  • Knowledge of and hands on experience with analytical enginetype programming language (R, Python, SASor SPSS).
  • Experience in Data management, Tableau, SQL, BASE, and in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Willingness to travel.

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems.
  • Ability to excel at both a strategic and execution level; Skilled at multi-tasking, delivering under tight timelines and adapting quickly to change.
  • Ability to influence decision makers and clearly communicate analytical/design results through narrative stories and guided analytics.
