What you’ll be doing...

As the Marketing Manager - Public Safety you’ll be supporting Verizon’s growing presence in the public sector market. You will harness your marketing skills to develop, manage, and execute plans to support public safety marketing designed for Verizon’s Federal and Smart Communities businesses. Marketing plans and activities will include message development, event planning and management, product launches, demand generation campaigns and thought leadership activities that build awareness, generate leads and deliver measurable results.

  • Developing, maintaining, and executing marketing plans and activities that support Verizon’s Federal and Smart Communities public safety marketing and sales objectives, including the development of compelling value propositions customized for these particular customer bases. Using marketing expertise and a solid understanding of how technology benefits customers to tailor compelling, audience-specific campaigns and messaging.
  • Working with Verizon’s agencies and media partners to develop campaigns, creative materials and thought-leading content for federal, state and local public safety audiences. Planning, writing and executing targeted email marketing and social media campaigns that support Verizon’s Federal and Smart Communities public safety marketing and sales objectives.
  • Planning and managing Verizon’s participation in public safety, federal, state and local events, including sponsorships, booth logistics, event messaging, speaking engagements, event promotion, staffing, and attendance.
  • Understanding the competitive landscape in order to build targeted marketing plans and launch solutions appropriately. Working with cross-functional teams to obtain research and provide input to pricing, product management, product marketing, and other organizations on how to position Verizon for success among the public safety audience.
  • Developing public safety messaging and win themes for priority contracts and accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, messaging for key contracts, sales presentations, customer briefings, tradeshows, email marketing, advertisements and websites.
  • Tracking and reporting on marketing activities, including outbound campaigns, demand/lead generation, funnel generation, MQLs, SQLs, and marketing influenced opportunities. Regularly develop and present marketing updates to sales and marketing leadership and teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’re all about the customer and passionate about using technology to create solutions for our government and public sector clients. A self-starter, you have a proven ability to work with product and creative teams to implement, support, and track multiple programs on-budget and on-deadline.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience supporting public safety, federal, state and/or local customer bases in the marketing space.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Ten or more years of marketing experience, including experience developing messages, demand generation campaigns, thought leadership content and collateral.
  • Public safety marketing experience.
  • Event management experience.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Superior writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
