The Verizon Business Group Operations Manager is a highly motivated, self-directed individual committed to achieving business results and contributing to the organization’s success. You must have a strong organization and interpersonal skills, proven program and project management skills and a curiosity for what is possible

The Business Group Operations Manager has accountability and oversight for the overall executive governance process. You are responsible for creating, assigning, tracking, reporting and closing specific plans and projects. You develop and manage business relationships with executives, customers, stakeholders, partners, employees and other support personal. You lead signature organization initiatives, and work and collaborate with broader teams on others. You represent VBG at cross-functional opportunities with and amongst the other business groups. You are detail and results-oriented, and you measure progress and success.

The Business Group Operations is responsible for executive presentations content, the development and consistency of key leader messages and support 2.0 transformation activities across the organization.

A typical day for a Business Operations manager includes decision-making, prioritizing, negotiating, trouble-shooting, problem-solving, expectations setting and due-diligence.

This position reports to the VBG Chief of Staff.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in program and project management.
  • Project management experience as you will be involved in several projects at a time that may not coincide with one another.
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Experience presenting and creating slide decks/presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues and risks to executive stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint presentation and excel spreadsheet development.
  • Ability to participate at executive meetings and present to senior leaders.
  • Experience managing/working with large cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to quickly resolve complex problems and identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action to keep program schedules on track.
  • Business Operations, budget and/or capital planning experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A PMP or other project management certification.
