What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Corporate Information Security Office is seeking a skilled business intelligence professional. This is an exciting opportunity to wear a variety of hats on a growing Information Risk Management team. This role will be focused on business operations and intelligence and will be presented the opportunity to work across many functions including customer notification as well as supporting recurring reporting requests for senior leadership. This team also supports multiple functions across the organization to enable security spend analytics and intelligence.

The business intelligence professional will regularly partner directly with privacy, security operations, finance, human resources, strategic sourcing to build out streamlined processes and enable the business to make data-driven decisions. Key responsibilities include: management of the end-to-end data privacy analysis and customer notification process , pinpointing operational and process efficiency opportunities leveraging advanced data analytics, and providing ad hoc and recurring reporting as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and implementation of advanced recurring automated reporting and dashboards solutions in support of business objectives.
  • Making strategic business decisions and recommendations on the appropriate data sources, tools, and visualization and delivery methods to leverage the information.
  • Identifying and recommending modifications to improve process efficiency for reporting and dashboard delivery methods and automation.
  • Work closely with Privacy and Threat Management Center to assist in cyber events and investigations, including but not limited to, data discovery & analysis and customer notification, as needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day processes which assure standard privacy notifications are sent in a timely manner; identifying and implementing process improvements to improve service levels and analytic insights.
  • Continuously develop and enhance understanding of existing data infrastructure and source systems as well as new technologies, tools, and methods in data architecture and BI infrastructure.
  • Provide operational and analytical support of the CIS leadership to support a variety of processes, projects and initiatives.
  • Creating new business intelligence services and support to address emerging needs.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience (Business Intelligence).
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master degree in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a relevantdiscipline.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and big data mining tools such as Hapoop, Qlik, SQL, Cognos or Tableau.
  • Experience providing actionable intelligence leveraging a variety of data sets including, but not limited to, customer and spending data.
  • Unstructured data experience.
  • Industry certification such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in a data mining role with strong quantitative and analytical skills and experienceof turning large amounts of multi-faceted data into meaningful information.
  • Excellentcommunication skills in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
