What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Distribution Strategy team is responsible for synthesizing the business unit’s overarching sales, marketing, and customer experience strategies into a plan of action for Verizon’s physical retail distribution channels (corporate owned, agents, and National Retailers). In addition, the team leads the Consumer organization’s execution strategy creation, and designs and drives the execution of transformational business model changes in our distribution channels.

As the Distribution Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring quantitative analysis and empirical thinking guide the development of our distribution strategy, and the deployment of our retail footprint. You will collaborate with many teams (internal and external) to develop models, and to ensure the validity of the work in conjunction to the business. Specifically, you will:

  • Build and improve statistical models that will predict distribution KPIs.
  • Develop forecasts, predictions and recommendations
  • Manage projects and organize qualitative measurements, timelines, delays, etc.

What we’re looking for...

You have a strong focus on data science, analytics, and reporting - specifically in creating models that will guide decisions for multiple teams. This role requires a team player who is able to handle several high-profile projects in parallel and follow through on expectations with minimal supervision. You have the ability to deliver in a time-sensitive and ever-changing business environment. You are self-motivated, proactive in anticipating needs, and think beyond the guidelines provided in the role. You are comfortable working as a team and across the organization.

Given the scope of our charter, complexity of the initiatives and the high levels of visibility, you must be extremely thoughtful, well organized, and an excellent communicator.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in data science, MIS, computer science or related discipline.
  • Experience with SAAS, R, Minitab, or SPSS (Python, Teradata SQL and Alteryx).
  • Experience managing concurrent projects, high-level strategic planning, and tactical daily execution.
  • Experience in effectively managing and building consensus across multiple teams/stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting research and data.
