What you’ll be doing…

The successful candidate will be working at our Dublin office to join our Data Products team, in a hands-on capacity and immediate contact with data scientists working on machine learning algorithms to analyze our massive datasets and come up with innovative solutions. Emphasis of the role is on continuous delivery and “total automation” of machine learning/big data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with a cross-functional team of Data engineers, Data scientists, Operations and business stakeholders to ensure smooth deployments of software updates and assuring the adoption of best practices to assure 24x7 reliability of availability of our systems.
  • Focus and experience on best practices aimed to a continuous improvement of CI/CD processes
  • Proactively work with the team to improve the process of building and deploying big data and machine learning solutions across all test and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain reusable automation scripts and components with variety of build and deployment automation tools, including but not limited to: git implementations (e.g. Bitbucket), build runners (e.g. Bamboo or Jenkins), deployment automation (e.g. Octopus, Ansible) and AWS IaC (infrastructure as a code) scripts.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer in an agile development environment.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, especially PowerShell.
  • Experience with any of the following build and deployment automation platforms: Bamboo, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, AWS Code Deploy.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code approach.
  • Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, VPC, VLAN, Network Orchestration.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in computer science/engineering or relevant.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Experience with large enterprise scale solutions.
  • Working experience or strong knowledge of Python or any other common language.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark and Scala, Nifi, Kafka.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience using Git, Gitflow (branching model).
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
