What you’ll be doing...

Risk Management & Compliance is responsible for overseeing Verizon policies, processes, people and systems while partnering with business leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory and reputational risk.

This Principal Security Risk Management position is responsible for the evaluation and mitigation of risk across the Verizon Consumer Group, and using that evaluation to prioritize risks and allocate resources (people, systems, analytics, etc.) necessary to reduce existing, new and emerging threats to the business.

  • Provide program and technical leadership across the business and serve as a subject matter expert on customer authentication protocols, security awareness and communication strategy, security work stream program management, and risk management initiatives.
  • Develop and implement risk assessment strategies to identify risk to Verizon and their Customers.
  • Lead the assessment, implementation, and management of a broad set of secure technologies and processes within the Verizon Consumer Group.
  • Partner with internal cross-organizational stakeholders to manage an industry-leading integrated security posture and serve as a security advisor to the leadership team.
  • Ensure the security of processes, policies, people, systems is actively maintained and hardened against industry, legal and compliance standards.
  • Partner across a diverse set of organizations to provide leadership throughout the design, engineering and deployment of secure platform technologies.
  • Drive consistent security assessment testing, reporting, and resourcing throughout the technology and product lifecycle.
  • Liaise with and provide direction to related corporate functions (Compliance, Risk Management, GTS, Operations, HR, and Legal) in addition to senior management on the assessment, triage and remediation of identified risks.
  • Serve as an escalation point for information security issues and incidents. Working cross-organizationally to drive issues to a timely resolution and ensuring that lessons learned are leveraged to improve the overall security posture.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in cross-functional disciplines.
  • Experience with a concentration in risk management, operational compliance, business controls, information security or Finance.
  • Experience in developing Customer Authentication and Communication Strategies.
  • Experience in developing and deploying security solutions across globally distributed service provider platforms.
  • Experience driving complex solutions and analytics to provide ongoing and automated monitoring of key risks.
  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Assurance, Risk Management, or Cyber security.
  • A professional certification, such as Security+, CISM, CISSP, CIA, CISA.
  • Experience in the assessment, identification, and triage of security issues in globally diverse technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain confidential and complex issues and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Telecommunications experience.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
