What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon B2B Strategy team, an organization within the Verizon Business Group (VBG), is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and initiatives that lead to improvements in customer satisfaction, revenue growth, cost and operational efficiencies, and ultimately return on invested capital. In order to achieve those goals, the B2B Strategy team works cross-functionally with business unit leaders, other corporate stakeholders (i.e. Finance, Network, Product, Corporate Development, etc.), and external constituents to generate near, mid, and long-term growth strategies that drive shareholder value. Within the B2B Strategy team, this position will specifically focus on Verizon’s Wholesale business segment.

In this role, you will need to:

  • Assess wholesale industry trends and dynamics.
  • Gain a deep understanding of wholesale products.
  • Identify Verizon’s opportunities and gaps within the wholesale industry.
  • Develop business cases for new products and opportunities.
  • Develop analytical methodologies to answer strategic questions within wholesale and the broader VBG organization.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and the broader ecosystem, not only for benchmarking purposes, but also for acquisitions, investments, divestitures, and partnering opportunities.
  • Synthesize complex ideas into simple concepts in order to effectively communicate with senior leaders.
  • Work with finance and the wholesale business segment to develop the 5-year financial plan and capital requests/allocations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, investment banking, equity research, or strategy/technology consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of building business cases, proposals, and finding creative solutions to increase ROI.
  • Strong experience in market research/competitive analysis.
  • Ability to works a lot with our competitors, a strong knowledge of strategy and financial modeling around current business arrangements with a competitor.
  • Ability to identify market trends and make strategic suggestions/decision based on that information.
  • Experience in a market research firm.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and innovative thinking.
  • Excellent research and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be a team player and relationship builder.
  • Ability to lead several concurrent projects and manage time effectively.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills – particularly in front of senior executives.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (macros, pivot tables, vlookup, etc.).
  • Strong telecommunication, technology, and/or B2B experience.
