What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Systems Security Engineer will work in direct consultative engagements with customer to provide support, advice and guidance on the correct application of Security services/products/technology solution or techniques unique to the customer. The engineer designs, develops and implements solutions by using security engineering methods, techniques and tools. The senior systems security engineer will also act as a team lead on security technology projects/engagements or portions of larger projects (e.g., product assessment, resource utilization, risk mitigation, performance management, etc.) The systems security engineer is recognized as an extremely knowledgeable resource in several security domains. He designs total system solutions for smaller projects/engagements or for portions of larger projects, widely applies theories, concepts and systems integration fundamentals. The engineer develops customer support plans for complex systems and/or major projects. The Security systems engineer assists, as needed in ongoing operations and lifecycle efforts of the managed services team in addition to working on consultative engagements with the customer and work with vendors to ensure proper feature and functionality deployment.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology.
  • Eligibility to obtain a government issued security clearance.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering or information systems or a Master’s degree and relevant vendor certification along with vendor neutral certification (CISSP, CEH, GSEC, GPPA).
  • Five or more years of experience working with network security products from vendors such as A10 Networks, Symantec, F5 Networks, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, Check Point and Cisco.
  • Experience implementing network security solutions in Enterprise and Service provider environments, as well as experience implementing network management and network security applications.
  • Experience collaborating with Security Operation Center (SOC) teams in trouble-shooting and vulnerability remediation of Security Incidents.
  • Experience with integrating security in the design, configuration, installation, operation and maintenance of IP networks.
  • Strong knowledge of network and security protocols and concepts including IP routing, BGP, Network Virtualization including VRFs, Route Domains, L3V Partitions, Dynamic SSLi, OCSP, and network protocols including DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills along with the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
