What you’ll be doing...

You will be working with some of our largest and most influential customers to ensure that they have the equipment they need, when they need it. As an Inventory Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning and purchasing of Network equipment for our Enterprise customers. You will need to ensure that adequate inventory is maintained in order to support network deployments across VZW, VZB, and VZT.

  • Fulfilling complex sales orders to meet customer specifications.
  • Addressing expedition requests and escalations.
  • Utilizing company assets in lieu of buying new equipment where appropriate.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and collaborating with all levels of management to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Tracking delivery service levels and managing customer delivery expectations.
  • Using optimal reorder points to maintain targeted Days of Supply.
  • Using demand data to establish internal stocking levels to meet customer and network needs.
  • In support of appropriate stocking, working with demand planning to obtain forecasts and reviews historical trending to ascertain past utilization trends to compare with current forecasting for future usage planning.
  • In the event of capacity shortfalls, coordinating response and recovery with the vendor, demand planning and engineering teams.
  • Developing purchasing plan with suppliers based on key inputs from demand planning and engineering.
  • Coordinating with demand planning, procurement and Engineering to address equipment backorders. Provides fulfillment data and pursues needed improvements.
  • Presenting recommendations for process improvement ideas to management to create efficiencies in the overall analysis and management of the planning process to include system enhancements and taking into consideration input and output variables.
  • Minimizing inventory levels to values set by management. Investigates opportunities to utilize excess equipment to reduce overall inventory values and CAPEX spend.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of equipment life cycle planning experience.
  • Two or more years of Supply Chain experience.
  • Supply and Demand Planning experience.
  • Experience with procurement systems and processes within vSAP and nSAP from order creation through shipments.
  • Experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Supply Chain or relevant field.
  • Five or more years of Supply/Demand planning experience.
  • Five or more years of Supply Chain experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrates transformational discipline, communication effectiveness and strong program management skill sets.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively with multiple clients and projects, tight deadlines and take actions using self-directed management skills.
  • Experience with direct or influential authority of cross functional teams, processes and levels of management.
  • A forward looking mindset with outstanding analytical abilities.
