What you’ll be doing...

This position is responsible for a wide variety of functions as it relates to Business Operations support of Global Supply Chain (GSC) in general, and specifically reporting Vice President of Global Supply Chain / Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). As a strategist, consultant and implementer, the successful candidate will ensure streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the Vice President/CSO.

Lead and Execute upon Strategic Initiatives

  • Design, develop and deliver strategies and initiatives around organizational reporting for all aspects of GSC Leadership team. Reporting includes but is not limited to weekly and monthly KPIs, management and associate headcount, top spend vendors.
  • Analyze metrics, identify and communicate trends by department. Identify opportunities and make recommendations for process improvement as it relates to automation of metrics, incorporation of reporting into BI or other platforms.
  • Proactively identify issues that may impact the success of initiatives participate in the development of mitigation plans to include new strategies and direction as needed.

Budget and Financials

  • Manage end-to-end process for budget planning and financial tracking for areas of GSC. Provide financial recommendations, influence teams to meet delivery milestones while building positive relationships.
  • Use financial analytics to ensure that the targets are met.
  • Prepare financial projections and identify and present trends to leadership.
  • Work with the leaders, as well as Finance to develop driver-based budgetary strategies and recommendations.

Program/Project Management

  • Conceptualize, design and manage multiple projects/programs simultaneously to completion; responsible for end to end strategic element of the projects which include those supporting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Create cohesive project plans with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones, and manages plans and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters. Identify key risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Communication of project milestones to Leadership Team as needed including the documentation of presentations.
  • Project manage Executive Business Operations reporting to include dashboards, presentations and ad hoc requests from the VP and Director teams, recognition and incentive program budgets, Internship and Verizon Leadership Program.

Ad Hoc

  • Maintain confidential documentation and act as liaison with HR business partner.
  • Assess inquiries directed to the VP, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage.
  • Manage emergency vendor contact list and all related procedures for emergency and disaster contingency planning.
  • Directly support the VES Transformation to synergize work functions to consolidate roles & gain productivity.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experinece in Managing projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders
  • Experience with Power Point, Excel, Word, and Visio.

Even better if you have:

  • A Degree.
  • Master’s degree. Ideally, in project management.
  • Managed project life cycles.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Managing Successful Program (MSP).
  • Program management experience with complex multi-million dollar programs.
  • Practical knowledge of Product Process Model (PPM) tools.
  • Motivated and influenced teams to deliver outcomes and results.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and maintaining accountability for major business initiatives.
