What you’ll be doing...
As a Principal Architect and technology subject matter expert in enterprise networking, you will provide overall engineering oversight of Advanced Technology Group products and services and apply this knowledge to a customer's internetworking environment in partnership with field sales teams. This individual is the point of contact for solution architects with an ability to mentor them to drive excellence in solutions development, and lead opportunity closure through strategic engagement with cross-functional teams.
The Principal Architect drives the development and adoption of our software defined networking and network function virtualization product portfolio. By utilizing sound engineering principles and industry best practices consistent with Verizon’s product set, a Principal Architect allows the customer to rely on them for technical expertise in the design, implementation, and evolution of their architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for more effective technical support to field-based technical teams.
- Proactively monitor projects and peer reviews to maximize sales results.
- Interface directly with client and technical personnel at all levels as required to provide consistent, high quality technical support and to develop sales/service opportunities.
- Accelerate strategic service solutions bundles.
- Lead technology discussion in executive briefings and customer presentations.
- Consistently share successes and expertise across the SA community.
- Engage peer organizations to resolve customer issues.
- Provide timely market information, drivers and customer feedback to our partner organizations for product and technology positioning and enhancements.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Six or more years of experience in architecture conceptualization, definition and development of IT and/or telecom based products and service.
- Six or more years of experience in a customer-facing interaction with accountability for end to end delivery (i.e. Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Service Delivery Architect).
- Six or more years of experience in a variety of disciplines related to the selling of IT and managed telecommunications solutions. Disciplines to include :Data and IP Services,Managed Network Services / Security Solutions,Cloud & Virtualized Services including NFV and SDN,IT Applications Management / NetDev Opps.
- Experience with and thorough understanding of complex network and data center/cloud infrastructures.
- CCNA, CCDP, CCNP, CCIE certifications or equivalent.
- Understanding of IP-related protocols with emphasis on MPLS/BGP VPNs, BGP, OSPF, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SMTP, SNMP, DNS and FTP.
- TOGAF and/or ITIL certifications for architecture and delivery.
- Ability to communicate internally and externally with clients, and third parties.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
- A Degree.
- MS or MBA degree.
- Five or more years of experience delivering customer presentations and preparing customer-facing material such as RFP responses, proactive proposals, and network/system designs.
- Financial analysis experience (P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development, etc)
- Knowledge in cloud-based applications, virtualization (MCSE P&I, AWS CSA/CDE, VMware CMA, or equivalent).
- Experience with security issues concerning network infrastructure (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SSCP, CRISC, or equivalent).
- Understanding of IT architecture design and development (TOGAF, ITIL, CCAr, DCUCD, MCSE Platform & Infrastructure, CITA-x, CISSP, CQS, or equivalent).
