What you’ll be doing...

As a Senior IAM Applications Support Engineer you will be responsible for overall Identity Access Management (IAM) operations and security strategy for detection and monitoring of risks, vulnerabilities, and evolving our preventive infrastructure, network and business processes to keep ahead of the threat.

The candidate will also provide technical solutions and operations support for in-house Security and System Performance software applications supported by Network Security and Identity Access Management, used to secure employees, contractors and vendors access to network elements, applications and support Verizon’s VCP, 5G, LTE, VoLTE, 4G to name a few.

The candidate is responsible for the advanced installation, operation, maintenance, deployment, training and support of Network Security Applications including secure element access applications, security applications and related components, protocol usage, scripting and more, in a project and production support environment. In addition, will help develop, enhance and participate in architecture changes for mission-critical network applications and databases to ensure the network organization has effective tools and customer-focused applications to meet security, alarming, monitoring and audit compliance of Verizon’s network.


Operations Support:

  • Provide production support and development of four (4) Mission Critical Security Applications, such as CyberArk, Secure Access to Network Elements(Session Management), etc.
  • Troubleshoot, deploy, administer and maintain multiple applications at one time.
  • Maintain system environments, scripting and configuration changes.
  • Responsible for analyzing problems, developing solutions, making decisions that impact projects and support, other internal groups and vendors.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing of enhancements prior to production deployment.
  • Conduct end-to-end systems development to ensure reliable and maintainable applications across all cross-functional teams.
  • Integrating security requirements with identity stores, relational databases, application servers and physical access management systems.
  • Respond to, research and resolve trouble reports and system alarms to determine problem severity and diagnose, determine and execute appropriate response actions.
  • Evaluate alarming structures and determine optimal ways to proactively recognize trouble.
  • On-call rotation duties are required for 24X7 system support.


  • Support the Sr. Manager, Strategy & Risk in driving strategic initiatives (vulnerability management, asset management, penetration testing, etc.) around improving the effectiveness of the delivery, integration and operation of enterprise security services technologies in meeting Verizon’s business operational and risk management goals.
  • Provide project status, and interface professionally with Network Security Services, Subject Matter Expert Engineers and Regional, Area and HQ Network Engineering teams across Verizon Wireless to deliver robust, scalable and manageable software solutions.
  • Partnering with the Development team to implement Security and System Performance tools using Java, Swing, JSP, C++, HTML, GWT, Oracle, Shell Scripting in UNIX, Security Concept and WebServices.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in cyber security Identity Access Management applications support (like CyberArk,Session Management, etc.).
  • Experience in utilizing JIRA/Kanban and Agile Methodologies (DEV/SEC/OPS and CICD).

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • CISSP or other security certifications
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols.
  • Technical and analytical skills:
    • Strong organizational, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
    • Experience with GitHub.
    • Solaris & Linux OS Administration.
    • Shell scripting experience.
    • Knowledge of MS SQL, SQL Plus and PL/SQL.
    • TCL/TK and Perl.
    • Oracle administration and basic understanding of relational DBs.
    • Knowledge of standard Internet protocols and services.
    • Experience with the UNIX operating system, using common system functions.
    • Networking: Routing and debugging experience.
    • Knowledge of information systems concepts and process management.
  • Strong knowledge of AAA concepts and methodologies.
  • Windows Server 2008R2 and 2012 OS Administrationexperience
  • Microsoft .net experience
  • Experience with security protocols like SSL, PKI, RADIUS, TACACS, EAP, LDAP, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and Project Management skills in driving projects to completion.
  • Knowledge with and practical experience in asset security and its functional components.
  • Knowledge with the security domains of security engineering, IAM, network/data security, software development, assessment, testing, and operations.
  • Ability to concise written and verbal briefings on complex security-related and technical projects.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
