What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for providing complete technical oversight and project management for transport network expansion projects. These projects focus on the expansion of the EBH, dark fiber, and microwave network. You will be responsible for development and issuance of RFP documents to fiber providers, comparison and selection of bids and project management of fiber delivery. You’ll also be responsible for the specification, ordering and installation of transport equipment in support of the build out of iEN/CRAN Hub locations and dark fiber networks required for cell tower backhaul.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation for all equipment supporting Network infrastructure projects deployed throughout the Verizon Wireless (VZW) Network.
  • Managing vendors via selection, contract negotiation, RFP and ongoing relationships.
  • Managing financial projects by establishing business cases, developing and managing budgets, procurement and bill payments.
  • Interfacing with higher level leaders for managing all facets of large, complex infrastructure deployments.
  • Ensuring equipment growth projects meet expectant demands in support of the company’s objectives.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Equipment engineering and purchasing experience
  • Experience in SiteTracker, FUZE SPM, People soft and Granite.
  • Experience with office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets, Drive and Docs.

Even better if you have:

  • A Degree.
  • Technical degree; ideally your Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of ASR ordering systems including TESS.
  • Five or more years of experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with CWDM/DWDM Optical Transport systems including: Ciena and Cisco.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, problem solving, project management, interpersonal and decision making skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and apply working knowledge of wireless engineering on new projects.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, show initiative, and capability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies:
    • DWDM Optical Transport systems including: Ciena 6500.
    • Cisco 1k, 920 & 903 routers, ALU/Nokia 7705 & 7750 routers.
    • Digital Communications including: Fiber, Ethernet.
  • Wireless voice and data service including: EVDO, CDMA, LTE.
