What you’ll be doing...

Help us optimize Verizon purchases for > five hundred million dollars of 3rd Party Access Transport by joining Carrier Management as a member of the Access Planning Team. This group optimizes the Verizon transport network by consolidating bandwidth and by reducing mileage purchased. Both tasks require a detail understanding of access circuit design and strong analytical skills. Daily tasks will contribute towards a 2019 target of thirty million dollars.

  • Monitor assigned territories for underutilized bandwidth to initiate a project to remove excess capacity.
  • Review child circuits and apply rules for diversity and special handling circuits.
  • Identify circuits with excess mileage and initiate a project to groom to lower cost option.
  • Provide ordering instructions and comments to assist groomer with issue Access Service Request (ASR).
  • Block capacity to ensure project can complete.
  • Respond to all questions related to projects in your territory and make updates to project as required.
  • Serve as liaison to IT system responsible for providing optimal order instructions for updates and corrects to capacity.
  • Provide ordering instructions to service delivery when optimal capacity cannot be identified.

What we’re looking for...

You have good people skills, outstanding analytic, access engineering knowledge and SQL programing skills as wells as the financial acumen to represent Verizon in front of key internal and external customers.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience in the Telecom industry, including Access Cost Management experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Previous experience with Verizon Business in an invoice validation, cost or access engineering role.
  • Experience with FCC Interstate Telcom Tariffs and LEC Service Guides.
  • Knowledge of 3rd Party Telco Vendor billing with detailed knowledge of CABS and SECABS billing formats.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Verizon Network Systems & Applications including Netpro, F&E, BGW, TCOMS, CLR, Order Manager, VERIFY, eASR, 4WM, CAMEO and Optima.
