What you’ll be doing...

The Systems Engineering organization provides end-to-end detailed engineering, simulation and analysis of wireless and wireline systems as typically defined by the Industry Forums and Network Planning to assist the Network Engineering teams in the development, deployment, integration and troubleshooting of complex systems.

As the Director of the Systems Engineering Modeling and Analysis team, you will have following responsibilities.

  • Build and lead an organization in multiple telecommunications disciplines to create, and develop / update detailed technical specifications and white papers.
  • Build and provide leadership to team that works with internal GN&T organizations to develop network models, and analyze simulation / diagnostic outputs
  • Build and provide leadership to a team that develops Verizon technical specifications to provide clarity to industry recognized specifications and analysis summary reports to drive action.
  • Establish relationships and partner with industry partners and specification bodies to understand technology trends to ensure that the models are available when needed by the team.
  • Establish the Systems Engineering team as a valued part of GN&T with consistent and valued work products and a reliable technical consultation organization.
  • Provide senior leadership with executive summary of analysis exercises to senior leaders.
  • Provide guidance and high-level goals for the organization.
  • Coach and mentor team members.
  • Oversee the projects that team is working on, ensuring that the team is meeting obligations to business partners and is delivering valuedwork products.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 15 years of telecommunications experience in mobile embedded systems and products is required
  • 10 years of managing teams of technical experts
  • 2 years of managing medium organizations (15+ people) and multiple complex projects.
  • Financial analysis and budgeting experience
  • Strong project management skills to execute on roadmap, driving a project from inception to completion
  • Excellent communication and advanced presentation skills including demonstrated experience with executive level presentations
  • Knowledge of major telecommunication ecosystem partners and contacts within these organizations
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative resolution of differences with a “win-win” approach
  • Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, plus proven relationship building abilities
  • Familiarity with 5GNR, LTE ,IMS, VoLTE, OMA DM, LWM2M, PON, TCP / IP
  • Good understanding of relevant 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standards

Even better if you have:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience building a new organization
  • Work experience or equivalent subject matter expertise across multiple technology areas
